What Women Want Online (excerpts from Advertising Age 2/2008)

  • More than 54 percent of women shopped online in the first half of 2007 with a focus on travel, adult clothing, health and beauty products, children's clothing, financial products, and food.
    • These same women tended to be more affluent with 68 percent with household incomes of $100,000 or higher.
  • According to GSI Commerce, women between 45-54 were much more likely than men to make impulse purchases.
  • Based on research from ComScore, 43 million moms go online daily and spend an average of 85 minutes online.
  • Women are much more likely than men to turn to the web for health-care information.
